Dr. Qiao, MD, PhD, is a Principal Research Fellow at the Storr Liver Centre, the Westmead Institute for Medical Research (WIMR) and an Adjunct Professor of the Faculty of Medicine and Health, the University of Sydney. Dr. Qiao is a clinician Scientist with interests in gastrointestinal cancers, liver cancer, chronic liver diseases, pre-clinical model of GI and liver diseases (e.g., organoids). He leads a research group in the Storr Liver Centre working on translational hepatology and precision oncology. Dr. Qiao has authored >220 articles in peer-reviewed journals including in Cell, J Hepatol, Hepatology, Gut, Mol Cancer, Cancer Res, Cancer Letts, BBA Rev on Cancer, and Adv Drug Deliv Rev. His h-index is 64, h10-index 181 and a total citations >14200.

Dr. Y. James Kang is the Chief Scientist, Tasly Biopharmaceutical Company, Tianjin;
Professor and Director of the Regenerative Medicine Research Center at Sichuan University West
China Hospital; Director of Sichuan Regenerative Medicine Research and Technology Center;
and Professor Emeritus, University of Louisville, Louisville, KY, USA. Dr. Kang received his
Ph.D. in Toxicology and Cell Biology at Iowa State University in 1989 and completed
postdoctoral training in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Cornell University Medical
Center in 1991. He was Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of North
Dakota School of Medicine (1991-1996); Associate Professor and University Scholar (1996-2001)
and Professor and Distinguished University Scholar (2001-2017) in Medicine, Pharmacology and
Toxicology, University of Louisville School of Medicine. He served several US-NIH study
sections from 1997 to 2006, and other US funding agencies including USDA, US-EPA,
US-Veterans Administrations, and American Heart Association from 1996 to 2009. He was an
elected Fellow of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences since 2001, and he was the
Editor-in-Chief of Cardiovascular Toxicology (2001-2022). His research interests are in life
rejuvenation and regenerative medicine, focusing on mesenchymal stromal cells or medicinal
signaling cells (MSCs), tissue injury signaling and organ rejuvenation. He made a major
breakthrough in 3D bio-printing of MSC-based vascular graft for human implantation, leading the
field of MSCs in organ rejuvenation.
